I am hoping to bring some articles to the attention of those at the current conference on Human Trafficking in Tampa and/or to other anti-slavery advocates. I am very limited in my own resources in dealing with this issue.
The material I want to bring to the attention of as many as possible who may be at that conference are articles I've written that talk about what I've uncovered in my own efforts to get what appears to be a major US modern-day slavery operation investigated and the victims rescued. I got involved in this effort when one of the victims, my Love, David, was abducted before my eyes, here in the US, in August 2002.
These articles are accessible on the internet.
The first one, "Government reform needed to fight U.S. modern-day slavery" outlines that various areas that critically need to be address in order to effectively even begin to fight this crime. Two that followed that, "Iraq type atrocities are happening in U.S." and "Major flaws in US 2004 Trafficking in Persons Report" further explain those, as well as some of the tactics and schemes being used by traffickers, as it is being carried out here and, most probably being used in other parts of the US and the world, as well.
"FBI complaints of child sexual exploitation and modern-day slavery talks about measures that should be taken, particularly in the interim, to try to offset the current impediments to investigation.
" 'Accusations' relating to FBI complaints of child sexual exploitation and modern-day slavery" includes some of the evidence and documentation of what I am saying that may be easily accessed by a stronger advocacy group than the one in which I am involved, or by another stronger organization, such as a media organization.
The most recent article, "Feel free to publish, circulate, plagiarize" is an appeal to anti-slavery advocates to expand and better aim their focus, and the importance of us to unite in these efforts.
I am also planning to publish some of the details to recommendations I've submitted to Emmett McGroarty, of the US Dept. of H&HS's Campaign to Rescue & Restore Victims of Human Trafficking ( see www.acf.hhs.gov/trafficking). For other reasons, I am finding reasons to question the sincerity of the efforts of that Campaign. My background is that of a Corporate Resource Consultant. My proposal includes measures that would be very effective, and are very much needed, to help eliminate the shortcomings addressed in my earlier articles. However, what I submitted was about 35 pages long and also used highly sensitive information in some of the examples used, so the material needs extensive editing before it can be put into a publishable format. It is something I hope to do very soon.
