A lot of people believe that Ebert married the actress who played "Junkyard Sal" in "Beneath the Valley of the Ultravixens", which he pseudnomously wrote, but that isn't ture. Ebert is married to a lawyer named Chaz Hammersmith; June Mack, the actress who played Junkyard Sal, is deceased, and if I remember correctly, it was murder.
I've reported that he did indeed marry "Junkyard Sal". This was what I was told by Harry Knowles (who even co-hosted Ebert's movie program briefly).
He said that he talked with Roger and his wife at a restaurant during a film festival.
Roger did "hook up" with the actress who played Junkyard Sal (this according to Russ Meyer on the commentary track for the movie on laserdisc).
I cannot find biographical information on the actress and if she wanted to bury her past, putting out a press release that she "died" is one way to do that.
