IMHO, his father would not approve of the platform. I never said that "going against somethin one's father believed in [was] dangerous." I disagree with my dad on a lot of things. I just do not go out of my way to tell everybody that I disagree. It seems to me that in the past, Ron Reagan has gone out of his way to disagree with Dad, and done it publicly.
Regarding my comment about pro-democrat...I apologize, I was out of line when I look at the "conversation" from an objective point of view.

I don't know the son, but it seems, for the benefit of the doubt, that he is really concerned with this issue.
