IMHO, his father would not approve of the platform. I never said that "going against somethin one's father believed in [was] dangerous." I disagree with my dad on a lot of things. I just do not go out of my way to tell everybody that I disagree. It seems to me that in the past, Ron Reagan has gone out of his way to disagree with Dad, and done it publicly.
Regarding my comment about pro-democrat...I apologize, I was out of line when I look at the "conversation" from an objective point of view.
Hmmm, it is also important to me because my Granddad has Alzheimers Disease. However, I will not support research using the stem cells of aborted babies because I believe that abortion is morally wrong in the first place. If no aborted babies' stem cells are used, I am fine with this research.
Now, how do you figure that the prohibition of this research will harm our economy?

I don't know the son, but it seems, for the benefit of the doubt, that he is really concerned with this issue.
If the research isn't done here it will be done somewhere else. Thus, the biotech firms in other countries could gain an advantage. Billions of dollars could be lost if and when cures or treatments for these diseases are discovered by foreign companies.
I can understand that since his father just died of a disease that might benefit from stem cell research. However, I do not agree with his view. My main irritation is that he is doing it at the DNC. IMHO, President Reagan is rolling over in his grave, as they say, because of that.
Ah, there we have the old health care issue. It is all about money, is it not?
