I 'm not talking about giving up what we believe in, just acting a little smarter on some issues that stand to loose us votes.

Do you have any idea how much a cure for alzheimers would be? I forget.
(I'm gonna get flamed big time for that.)

We have a family member who could significantly benefit from this type of research. There's absolutely no proof that this would bring any benefit.
Remember, they said the same thing about fetal tissue research, too. And, that led to nothing.

The GOP is wrong on this issue.

How about if Ron Reagan's speech educated people about free markets?
The cure to any one of these diseases would be worth tens or even hundreds of billions of dollars on the open market, yet somehow the only way to get people to conduct stem cell research is for the Federal government to finance it.
Why don't the Dems just start a corporation called "The Stem Cell Research Company", and sink all of the union pension funds and Michael Moore movie proceeds and all of the money from all of the Bush-Bashing books, and all of George Soros' money into it?
Then when they make Jillions of dollars from stem-cell research they can use the money to finance every political campaign for the next 200 years.
To: VisualizeSmallerGovernment
That wouldn't matter to me. Just speaking at the DNC is traitorous. You do make a good point.

Last time i checked the Republicans still held majority in both houses. Why does the govt. have to fund everything, is it mandatory? I hardly think so.
