Tienanmen should be a huge clue.

The Beijing leaders

REALLY DO NOT

CARE

that much

if they lose even 800,000,000 or more people in a war.

They feel justified seeing China as abused and hemmed in the last 200 years. They consider this slated to be the CHINESE CENTURY if not the CHINESE MILLENIUM.

They figure that regardless of their population losses, there would be at least proportionate losses to their opponents.

They figure they can easily dominate the world that's left.

Part of that is cultural and personal arrogance. Part of it is not that far fetched logic from their perspective.

Of course, they have little clue--in spite of God's massive moves in China--they have little clue that God has a lot more options and a lot more accurate perspective than they do.

This will NOT be the Chinese century.

This will certainly NOT be the Chinese millenium.

This century and the rest of eternity belongs to THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, JESUS, THE CHRIST.

China will meet more than it's match when it descends on Israel as The Bible declares it will--given the givens, in our era. Only the percentage of very authentic Christians in China will be any hint of it's saving grace. China is a more Christian nation in raw numbers than the USA is. Their continued persecution increases their prayer clout.

Chinese leaders also likely believe that we don't have enough nukes to cover their vast country very adequately.

It's wouldn't be 800 million ... more like 1.2 billion. Plus without those 800 million they still would lose their industrial base currency and so much face that it would be not worth it.

In 10-20 years when they think they can win ... they WILL strike.

When you say that the Beijing leaders "figure they can easily dominate the world that's left," I believe you're greatly underestimating the extent of the damage to China that would result from a nuclear war with the US. Even if the Beijing leaders survived the war in underground shelters, which is doubtful, they would have no infrastructure to use to govern their own country, much less the world. They would have no phone system, no useable roads, no water supplies, no communication systems of any kind, and no way to rebuild any of this infrastructure.

Their latest statement is primarily posturing by Beijing. They're trying to intimidate us into backing away from Taiwan to a certain extent. Then they could use our actions as leverage to intimidate Taiwan. The best course of action is to continue selling defensive weapons to Taiwan and tell Beijing to pound sand if they don't like it. But it does look like we need to strengthen Taiwan's defensive capability so we don't need to assist Taiwan in the event of war with China.

Finally, what the world really needs is a Chinese Gorbachav, who decides to bring real freedom to China and allow Taiwan to become independent. Let's pray for such an enlightened leader.
