I was living in Georgia when I learned of the news that NOW was upset about something Rush Limbaugh had said, so they were urging a boycott of the product he sponsored at the time: Florida orange juice.

I remember seeing a news clip showing a Georgia man with a shopping cart full of Florida orange juice. He bought out the store. He was going to do his bit to support Rush. I remember seeing empty refrigerator shelves in my local grocery store - they were totally out of stock and remained out of stock for weeks. I remember seeing an interview with a spokesman for Florida orange juice who said that NOW planned boycott of their product was fabulous for business.

Like the old adage: "Be careful what you wish for, you might get it." NOW wanted a boycott, they got it. They just didn't plan for a counter-boycott to be more successful. I suppose if the radical Left really, really, really wanted to support Whoopi, they could have bought out the store of Slim-Fast. Since that didn't happen, I suppose Whoopi doesn't have the commanding presence that she'd like to think she has and prefer to blame another group for her lack of appeal.

Wonderful story!

Grassroot conservatism at its best - just like the response to Ms Goldberg's obscene remarks.

Congratulations to all FReepers that took part.

LOL! I love it. I guess that's why the RATs want the markets under government control too.
