"America's heart and soul is freedom of expression without fear of reprisal," But only for you left-wing whackos. You've got a lot of nerve calling anybody else a hypocrite, Whoopi.
"I find all this feigned indignation about 'Bush bashing' quite disingenuous,"
You just don't get that there are real Americans who are truly offended by your words and behavior, do you? Bless your heart, you're too d*mned ignorant to hate.
"Mary Beth Cahill said tartly that he could have the video after Bush releases his military records"
Apparently this dingbat doesn't realize that has already been done.
"SlimFast must realize that black women have every right to voice their views."
Sure they do. And the free market allows us to repond to it any way we choose and allows the conmpany to respond to the demands of the market. I don't think anybody in their right mind is going to buy that Whoopi is a poor, persecuted black woman. How many millions has she made? Problem is, it seems she fails to realize that she made it off of the good will of Americans. Those who gave it, can surely take it away.

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

Whoopi violated one of the primary rules of comedy on the Academy Awards. If you're going to be vulgar, you at least have to be funny. She wasn't. She's gone.

"I almost posted a thread a couple of days ago about how long it would take for her to start whining about being a "victim". I'm actually surprised that it took this long. I guess it took her this long to collect a thought, or to find someone to give her one.
And to think I used to like her. What these entertainers don't realize is that they're hurting their own careers. They can speak out all they want, but they don't have a right to be paid for it. When people are offended enough by them to stop buying what they're selling, they have no one to blame but themselves.

Diversity promoter Asa Khalif, who has made headlines for accusing celebrities of insensitivity, cried foul in the Goldberg firing. "I smell racism from beginning to end," said Khalif, head of Racial Unity USA in Pennsylvania. "SlimFast must realize that black women have every right to voice their views." Oh good grief! These people need to grow up, it's not about race, it's about responsibility!

I forgot to add this part.
Kerry, who is trying to woo swing voters, did not stand by his celeb supporters. On the defensive, he distanced himself from Goldberg and said through spokesmen that he thought her comments were inappropriate.
CHICKEN!! Be a man and say it yourself.

The Bush-Cheney campaign has been making a lot of hay out of Goldberg's set at last week's celebrity gala at Radio City Music Hall, professing shock at her blue jokes.
Release the tapes Whoopie and we'll see just how shocking this really is. And, btw - that's how the market works - no customers, no $$ - no politburo of elites that tell us what the opinion needs to be. She should represent companies that don't want to make $$.

What, you mean he didn't mention this while speechifying at the NAACP?!?
To: kattracks
Running mate John Edwards was asked about the flap yesterday by Fox News. "They weren't speaking for me, and they weren't speaking for John Kerry," he said, adding the ticket is "focused on our positive, optimistic vision of hope."
I was mad that Carl Cameron was very soft in this interview. Why he did not ask Edwards about John Kerry statement at the end of the fundraising "every performer tonight represent the heart and soul of America".
Carl Cameron really blew it in this interview, Katie Curick may have been tougher

America's heart and soul is freedom of expression without fear of reprisal Woopie, please re-read your constitution. The exact text is:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The same document that allows an informed populous to e-mail Slim-Fast with our opinions is the same document that allows her to go on her filth laden tirades! Too bad she does not get it.
God Bless America!

Celebrity - Brad Paisley
Someday I'm gonna be famous,
Do I have talent, well, no.
These days you don't really need it,
Thanks to reality shows
Can't Wait to date a supermodel,
Can't Wait to sue my dad.
Can't wait to wreck a Ferrari
On my way to rehab....
Chorus-
Cause when you're a Celebrity
It's adios reality
You' can act just like a fool
People think you're cool
Just cause your on TV.
I can throw major fits
When my latte isn't just how I like it
They say I've gone insane,
I'll blame it on the fame,
And the pressures that it goes with
Being a Celebrity
uh huh
I get to cry to Barbara Walters,
When Things don't go my way.
I'll get community service
No matter which law I break
I'll make the supermarket tabloids,
They'll write some awful stuff
But the more they run my name down,
THE MORE MY PRICE GOES UP!
Chorus-
Cause when you're a Celebrity,
It's adios reality.
No matter what you do,
People think you're cool,
Just cause you're on TV.
I can fall in and out of love,
Have marriages that barely last a month.
When they go down the drain
I'll blame it on fame
And say it's just so tough.
Being a Celebrity
So let's hitch up the wagons and head out west
To the land of fun in the sun
We'll be real world bachelors
Jackass Millionaires
Hey, Hey, Hollywood
Here we come!
Chorus-
Yeah, When you're a Celebrity
It's adios reality
No matter what you do,
People think you're cool,
Just cause you're on t.v.
...Being a Celebrity
...Yeah Celebrity!
...uh-huh

Odd that the content of her comments is not mentioned. I have no clue what she said.

"Kerry smiling and laughing.." And don't forget the part about him calling these entertainers the heart and soul of America. He doesn't seem to get that it is real Americans that are PO'd, not just the Washington elite.

Where was she when the Democrats boycotted Dr. Laura's sponsors? Probably at the front of the line.
