Which is why it's very interesting that the Mad Mullahs have turned over the crippled shiek to the Saudis, and why they very well could turn over the rest. What they fear most of all is having SA join with the US. The Saudis are at risk and they're not about to play games. If the House of Saud joins the US against the Mad Mullahs it's all over for them, and I think they know it. They don't even have their own people on their side.

You could be correct. I am not so sure though that the Iranians have much fear of Saudi Arabia per se.

We may be finding out that by GWB shaking the Middle East tree (by regime-change in Iraq) many things are changing in that neck of the woods (which was an unstated point of the invasion of Iraq all along, ne c'est pas).
