It's necessary, in my view, to replace Cheney with either of the above if it makes GWB's reelection more likely.

I don't know if you've noticed or not, but George Bush operates on principal not polls or politics. That's what most of us like about the man. Dumping Cheney for some perceived advantage is cheap politics. The race is not as close as it looks anyway.

I agree. W will not even consider letting Cheney go. If anything, W's stroking his VP to stay on the Team. Cheney and Rummy are the best thing that's come along inside the Beltway in decades. W knows how to put together a Team. Despite whjat some folks ay about W as being a dolt, and a flippin cowboy, personally, I appreciate his management style... and guts... and consistency. Too bad he's too Liberal on domestic issues.
