Recently, Ron Reagan, the son of President Reagan, argued on MSNBC how unconscionable it is that there are those in Washington "standing in the way" of stem cell research, given that so many could so quickly reap its benefits.
And young Ron's planned prime time speech at the Democratic convention has been touted as a major coup for the Democrats.
Not so fast, President Reagan's eldest son Michael says.
Discussing the Ron Reagan speech, Michael Reagan told his radio audience on his nationally syndicated Michael Reagan Show (Radio America Network) that brother Ron Reagan has no interest in continuing his father's political legacy.
In fact, Michael said that his brother so vehemently disliked his father's views he never voted for his own father when he ran twice for the presidency.
Now, Michael says "in the interest of accuracy, and to defend his father's legacy," he must make clear the difference between embryonic stem cell research and adult stem cell research.
Michael said: "Stem cell research is going forward. Embryonic stem cell research is going forward. But embryonic stem cells create tumors in rats while adult stem cells are doing quite well. The Left, including my brother, make you forget the difference."
Michael continued: "The president, and most everybody I know, is in fact onboard with stem cell research. It is the creation and destruction of an embryo for those cells which conservatives have a problem with."
Li'l Ronnie was born May 1958. We could reasonably argue that he is too immature to vote today.
If he wanted to support his father, he would have voted in the primary. As a Republican if such was required. However, is CA a state where you have to be registered as a Republican or RAT in order to vote in a particular primary?
lol
Sure he did, he just didn't win enough delegates at the convention. He lost by a razor-thin 1,070 to Ford's 1,187.
Why would that matter if that's his legal name? My father was a II and he didn't become a I when my grandpa died.
To the best of my knowledge, our beloved former President was never known as, Ron. Ronald and Ronnie, Mr President or former President Reagan, yes, but not Ron. Likewise, as far as I know, Twinkle Toes is only known as Ron, he has never been called Ronald.
We might call him Tail Feather instead.
Can we get a DNA test to disprove Little Ronnie Tutu's biorelationship to Ronaldus Maximus?
Ron's always been a raging leftist... the only thing he has in common with his father is a last name... there is not remotely anything ideologically similar between Ron and the Gipper. They had been butting heads over policies and politics since long before Gipper won the Presidency.
A man doesn't stop being a junior when his father dies.
Makes him a candidate for the Salvatorians, eh?
Leftie and LightShoed.
ROFLOL!!!!!! heheheh!!!!!!!! that's funny!!
He's 46 now, so he was 18 then.
Amazing how the adopted one is the one most like his father.
Ron 'P'rissy Reagan looks like Nancy. I would bet my last dollar she never "stepped out" on her beloved Ronnie. The kindest thing I can say about Ron 'P'rissy is that he has a marvelous tonal quality to his voice. Perhaps that's the one thing he inherited from his dad.
Hmm, sounds like a good idea for the spenders.
I REALLY REALLY like Michael Reagan! A genuine class act, like his dad.
Wonder if he has any political ambitions? We can hope!!
I think if Kerry and Edwards were to leave their wives and run off to someplace like San Francisco together, they would probably take little Ronnie along to be the "pool boy."
