OZZY JOINS BUSH BASH WITH HITLER MONTAGE Thu Jul 15 2004 11:38:38 ET
Rocker Ozzy Osbourne took Jones Beach, NY last night on what is quickly becoming a predictable Bush-bashing express.
Osbourne opened his concert with the song "War Pigs," featuring a video portrait comparing Bush to Adolph Hitler.
The video featured Bush and Hitler on the same screen, with the caption: "Same sh*t different a**hole," says a source. Footage of bombs dropping and Hitler marching flashed as Ozzy screamed and guitars screeched.
Ozzy also flashed a picture of Bush with a clown nose, caption: 'The White House Circus."
Other bands in the OZzzFest lineup, such as Black Label Society, expressed support of the war.
The lead singer told the crowd in a profanity laced tirade against the terrorist: "Those f**kers crashed the planes into the Towers."
The concert featured a few dedicated songs to the our men and women serving overseas.

Ah yes, that last nugget brought back memories of concerts back in the day. Spiked watermellon sure helped to warm things up, my man...(In a Nick voice). Too bad someone set the golf cart shed on fire.

Osbourne is an avowed Satanist.Sources, please? I've been a metal fan for years, and I've never heard Ozzy express an adherence to any given religion. I have, however, heard him talk about songs like "NIB," "Mr. Crowley," and "Miracle Man," and his usual line is that although Satan/the devil/the occult plays heavily into the themes, he's not a Satanist or an occultist.

My sources are printed on the lyric sheets inside every Black Sabbath album.Sorry, FRiend, with all due respect, you must do a bit better than that. Can you name a song in which Ozzy admits to being a Satanist? I can't think of one.
There are several songs in which Ozzy admits to having non-Christian viewpoints, but that hardly makes him an "avowed Satanist." Does writing songs about murder make one a murderer?

Sheesh, and I thought the big story coming out of Ozzfest would have been the reunited Judas Priest, with their out-of-the-closet lead singer!

It was great. Hatebreed were the best. Positive message. Slipknot was cool, but everyone was going crazy. Slayer - well you know. Judas Preist was great. Ozzy, other than the movies, was really in good form.

Of course, you are free to think as you please. Where I come from, children are taught from a very early age that words have great power, since it is our belief that our Creator spoke and the universe leapt into existence.
Obviously, we do not possess that magnitude of creative ability, but our words still carry great weight and have the power to sway the thoughts of others. While Osbourne may not have made any declaration of loyalty to the Evil One during an interview, his lyrics speak to his bent. I would call the repeated Satanic imagery that premeates his music to be an avowing of same.
