I've never heard anything about that particular song. I'll look about a bit, see what I can find.
The question of his character is irrelevant. The original point you made was to say that he was an avowed Satanist. I requested that you provide proof of this claim. You did not, but instead said his music spoke for itself. If I understand your argument aright, if a person speaks "A," then he believes "A," regardless of what he says to the contrary. Everything else is irrelevant to the question at hand.
If I were to develop a fascination with, say, serial killers, and made a career of writing poetry about them, does that make me one? Of course not. That is your argument - since Ozzy has made a career out of writing poetry about the occult, he obviously is an adherent to the same. I respectfully differ with your opinion on this matter. Perhaps it's best if we leave it at that - respectful disagreement.
Where did you get that shirt???
Eh? From a guy who supported Bush in '00 and '02...heh
I for one don't give a rat's ass what Ozzy does or semi-thinks.
Ozzy, on the other hand, has probably eaten a rat's ass.
Yep, War Pigs is the opposite of Satanic. I don't agree with the message, as I think war is unfortunately necessary sometimes, but it's clear that Sabbath equates Satan with things they oppose.
Now in darkness, world stops turning
Ashes where the bodies burning
No more war pigs have the power
Hand of God has struck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
on their knees, the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wing
I think people make way too much out of the heavy metal lyrics. Its like the horror movie version of music. The two sort of go hand in hand. I am more concerned about kids learning to pimp out women and curse off a cop than I am a kid hearing about esoteric black magic stuff they barely even contemplate.
I read an interview with Rob Halford this week -- he sounds like a pretty cool guy.
Wow, reading this article I'm thinking of the hypocrisy of Ozzy. One of his "reality" shows featured his appearance with his wife at a function where President Bush actually acknowledged him. Seemed like Sharon was basking in the glory at the time. Anything for ratings, I guess.
I just wish these celeblibidiots would get the heck out of our country, since they hate it so much, and what it stands for. Please??????
The serial killer triad: killing small animals, setting fires, and bedwetting.
you mean Dimmu Borgir (they rock hehehe)
I had a roommate in college who had been in a band called Satan's Void that did Black Sabbath. He wanted to re-form the group and have me be the lead vocalist, but I couldn't do it because I do occasionally sing on key.
How his music (or him) ever survived the Seventies is beyond me. I for one wouldn't want the man in my house, no matter how well his TV show or musical career is doing. He's just not that coherent.
For some unknown reason Dubya invited him into the White House. I love Dubya and we need him re-elected in the worst way, but Ozzy in the White House is about as offensive as Markie Post jumping up and down on the Lincoln Bedroom rack. (And, by the way, why wasn't the Lincoln rack good enough for Bubba Potus since he let Post abuse the springs? I guess he liked sleeping on the couch with an intern for a pillow).
But the big mystery is why anyone cares what Ozzy thinks about politics. Even assuming the man actually thinks is quite a stretch. A voter confused enough to find no other way to decide how to vote other than listen to Ozzy is more confused that a Palm Beach County voter and unlikely to even find the polls, much less cast a legal vote for the candidate they actually want.

That is one creep show right there!!!!
yeha something like that. some kinda booger:-)
the tyke got their CD yesterday and my initial assessment was correct - their MUSIC was tolerable, even good, until they started singing;-)
but at my age, even saying that is significant - I remember when Black Sabbath's Paranoid was on the charts!
Haven't you tuned in to Bevis and Butthead radio? AKA Air America? I force myself to listen 2 hours a day. It is the ultimate reminder of what is looming over us.
At least they mentioned BLS's comments in support of the war. Some of them have their head's on straight, and Zakk is a helluva guitarist!
Seen Slayer before, pretty good live. Would love to see Hatebreed live.
