Here in Los Angeles, unfortunately, we've got a team of highly opportunistic talk radio semi-shock jocks who, during the recall, discovered the justified angst among many people regarding illegal immigration. They are presently courting that slice of the population with a stunt about defeating a Republican congressman, most likely Chris Cox or Dave Drier.
I spent a good chunk of the last couple of days on FR in yet another one of those fruitless "debates" with the "I'm never going to vote for another Republican in my life" crowd. Very frustrating, because there is no point, no argument that gets through to them. While I don't give a rat's patootie about such people, I'm always mindful of those hundreds of potential lurkers/readers of such threads. So I dip into those threads to try to present the other side. But it sure is hard on one's bloodpressure soemtimes. Grrrr... (We can't ever give up, though. Our military has it much tougher.)
My tagline until the election:
A vote for Kerry-Edwards is a vote for Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Jacques Chirac, the UN, International Criminal Court, and Hollyweirdos.
Failure to vote, or a vote for a minority party, is a vote for Kerry-Edwards (unless you’re a liberal/Leftist who’ll vote Nader, a minority party, or stay home).
