Actually, no, I think marriage should be privatized. Marriage is a personal matter, and often a religious matter. I think it would be better of if government didn't recognize the institution at all.

But marriage is not an inherently private matter. It is the basic building block of our society. I believe that experience has shown, the idea that marriage is merely a contract between tow people (i.e. no-fault divorce) has been incredibly destructive to our society.
BTW, do you favor legalization of polygamy, non-procreative incest (between either sterile male and female relatives or same sex relatives?).
