Thanks Pookie, sorry I missed it. It gave me a few chuckles when I opened my local paper and it was on the editorial page....right above another miserable Molly Ivans column
No problem...just an excuse to send you more toons ;-) Saw Ivans a couple of nights ago on O'Reilly...she avoided answering some of his questions.
umm... O'reilly probably edited out most of her responses. Did you hear how he erupted into a demon with that Washington Post guy? Let's be fair, Ivans is ALWAYS willing to talk even if she is wrong. Also, the cartoon... doesn't have kids? Most liberals I know have kids... that's how most liberals are created. Essentially the cartoon is implying that the liberals are just that persuasive that they'll get people who grew up in conservative households to convert. Too many blanket statements from both Left and Right of late. Issues, people. That's what matters. Not ridiculous stereotypes and name calling. Also remember that most liberals didn't live through the Vietnam era... so the whole hippie pony tail thing... just doesn't make sense. My boss has a pony tail and Hal Lindsey is his oracle. He's religious right to the core. Political cartoons are only funny if they're true. (i.e. Clinton using his new 'line item veto' to cross out 'congress'... now THAT was hilarious).
O'Reilly asked her the same question at least 3 times & she spun & spun. Re the cartoons, do a FR search for "toons" by date & pick out the ones you like...
Also, what's the deal with NPR? Did I miss something there? Are they thinking Pacifica Radio? I've heard conservatives and liberals on NPR. It's true there are more liberals than conservatives but sometimes it's just the news. They can't put a slant on 'such and such number of people die in Iraq today' or 'Clinton lied to the US about not being a sex fiend' those are things that just happened. Sometime there's no need to be 'fair and balanced'. It's really strange to hear people to call a station with that slogan convservatively biased. I mean, 'fair and balanced' implies subjective relativism, which is something Allan Bloom (notable CONSERVATIVE) condemns the Left for. Somethings just are. Sometimes those things hurt/help the Left and sometimes they hurt/help the Right and sometimes they do neither or both at the same time... it doesn't stop them from being true.
