My point is that it's fine to criticize the crime and suggest various punishments for the perp, but it's not ok to take this case and suggest that it implies all sorts of things about an entire group of people.
Actually part of the argument was that homosexuals commit pederasty at a vastly higher rate than their presense in the population. However, I understand your position; the same could be used against young black males, ~25% of which are in prison or on probation or parole. Of course that is also a valid supporting piece of data for evaluating their culture.
