Over 90% of the Bulgarians totally support the state's policy and actions concerning the hostages' crisis in Iraq, according to a recent survey.
Just 8% of the Bulgarians think that Bulgaria should meet the demands of the Iraqi insurgents, while the other 92% firmly state that Bulgaria should not bow to terrorists, shows an opinion poll, conducted by the Scala agency.
Most of the people that took part in the survey are positive that Bulgaria did its best to save the two hostages.
Some 41% of the Bulgarians believe that the fact that Bulgaria has sent its troops in Iraq is the main reason for the hostages' drama.
Great news!
Just as I suspected...
The Bulgarian people get it...
I guess the terrorists are learning that not all Europeans are spineless.
Bulgaria has a long history with the "religion of peace". It wasn't very peacefull.
Bravo Bulgaria!
But vhat if moose and squirrel vere kidnapped, Boris dahling? Vould "fearless leader" cheeken out?
I think it's interesting that the nations most recently released from oppresion are the ones most strongly supporting the war on terror.
That is good. I like it.
That is good. I like it.
You should like it. Your nation has shown a great deal of bravery in the face of danger.
Very true, and it pains me that seemingly educated people in this country have no clue as to the cause and effects. We have truly had it too good for too long, I guess.
As do many of the other countries in their area...when you live under such conditions for so long, you have an appreciation for freedom that most liberals in our own country can't even comprehend.
If I ever go to Europe again (money is the issue keeping me from it right now, what with having a new baby and all), I'll be including Bulgaria in my travel plans. If I have the money, I will spend lavishly while there also. I encourage anyone going to Europe to do the same. Why go to France or Germany anyway, everybody's been there already!
Money goes a long way there. I recommend the Northern Black Sea Coast (Albena, The Golden Sands) and a cruise up the Danube river with stops in Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria. Belgrade may not be very friendly to an American, though.
