I'm not sure what percentage of rapes involve the abuse of alcohol on the part of the perpetrator, the victim, or both, but I'd guess its not insignificant. Would you favor, therefore, the prohibition of alcohol?
If alcohol were illegal and statistics showed that alcohol led to rape, I would expect the legalization of alcohol to lead to more rapes. What other topic would you like to switch to? Drugs? Tobacco? Fatty foods? Same answer.
But the decision to legalize alcohol would be made on many other factors rather than just its connection to rape.
