Being an NFL coach is arguably better preparation for
politics than being a businessman. Politics has more
in common with coaching pro sports than with business.

I would put zero stock in this "report" unless or
until the Coach announces. Remember "It's Gephardt?"

Amen. This is the worst thing I've heard about Ditka.
He has to understand that you can't be effective in
cutting through all the BS of politics unless you're
willing to take a little yourself. Indeed, if you're
not willing to take a little BS yourself, you probably
won't be elected to office.

IF HE GETS ELECTED, IT LOOKS LIKE HE WILL BE ONE OF THE RARE ONE'S WITH A SPINE IN THE SENATE.

Along with a couple of other, equally rare body parts!

By the time the Old Media and their Democrat accomplaces finish spinning this egregious violation of NFL rules,

Ah, but that one was just a fluke compared with the much more eggregious habit of regularly having players deliberately take the ball out of bounds.

This is undoubtedly right. There was no evidence whatsoever that Ditka was likely to run. He was briefly playing along, quite understandably, with an ego-boosting boomlet. Who among us, with a normal ego, wouldn't?

Dream candidacies rarely materialize. That's why they're
called dream candidacies.

Ditka is probably a bright man, but not a manipulator.
If he's told people he won't run, unlike Arnold last year,
he must mean it.

Unfortunately, that works against him, just like it worked against Ventura in Minnesota.

Yeah, it sure kept him out of office didn't it? Oh wait ... he was elected ...
