Gergen named trustee at Duke University 7/8/2004 9:55 AM By: Associated Press
(DURHAM) -- David Gergen, a Harvard University professor who has worked for four U.S. presidents, is one of three new members of the Duke University Board of Trustees.
Gergen is a professor of public service and director of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He is also editor-at-large at U.S. News and World Report.
Gergen advised Presidents Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Clinton, working as a speech writer, a communications director, special counsel and an international affairs adviser.
He is a native of Durham and was a faculty member of Duke's Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy from 1995 to 1998.
Kathryn A. Laidlaw of Katy, Texas; and William P. Miller of Greensboro were also named to the 37-member board.
Gergen gone big time breathing rarified academic air. Where else but Duke which is like YTale with a great athletic program
My Gergen impression.
Is this for real?
Terry Sanford has a school within Duke University named after him? What, did he donate a lot of money? He must have; I mean he was a one term Senator.
What makes you think Coach K is not reflective of the overall ideology of the university that no doubt has the Christian founder of the school spinning in his grave? Not saying you're wrong, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Yeah, the Dem establishment always has use for a good "Republican" sissy like Gergen ...
Sissy is the right word for this spineless POS.
David Gergen is totally useless!!! End of story!!!
Om her latest book, Gergen is the ONLY person that Barbara Bush had harsh words for, and she intimated he was a backstabber and turncoat.
Coach K caused a bit of controversy in 2002 by hosting a fundraiser for Elizabeth Dole's Senate campaign.
I wasn't aware of that. Well then, it comes as no surprise that you go to the athletic department to find a non-leftist.
