GROZNY, July 13 (Itar-Tass) -- Twenty-five rebels were killed in a clash with a special task unit of the Chechen Interior Ministry on the outskirts of Avtury, Shali district, Chechen Deputy Interior Minister Col. Akhmed Dokayev told Itar-Tass.

“The rate may be even higher, as the clash zone near Avtury is still being searched,” he said. Besides, the federal artillery shelled an area where the rebels had been traced, he added.

I think that Putin is cynically using the Chechnya issue as a war on terror front . i think basically while there are plenty of islamists there it is mainly a Commie V Islam issue. I hope they both destroy each other.

I can see that you are an old man and in your mind the Russians are still the Soviets and are ready to collectivise your property and send you on a work farm. Perhaps you should read what Putin is doing to Russia's biggest company Yukos. Persecution of capitalism pure and simple. I can't see how anyone can possibly defend Putin's anti capitalism jihad .
