Until recently psychology did label homosexuality as abnormal. This was changed because of pressure from homosexuals. This change has made it difficult for homosexuals wanting out of the lifestyle to find help.

Some studies have found that many homosexuals were molested as children by an authority figure. And that there was usually a problem with the male authority figure (absent, etc.), for both sexes, in the child's life.

Some homosexuals were molested as children as were some straight people. That doesn't mean anything. There are no studies that suggest a majority of gay people were molested as children.
