I'm heartbroken. I thought "at last we have true social justice." So I gathered my courage and proposed to my goldfish.
She's gay.

"She's gorgeous. She's sweet. She's loving," Mark was quoted as saying in unbridled affection. "I'm very proud of her ... . Deep down, way down, I'd love to have children with her."

And that pony (or doggie, or gerbil, or parakeet) should have all of the marriage perks, too -- including power of attorney and the living will/medical care directive. "Bark once if you want us to pull the plug on master, Rover."

The animal argument is a bogus one, as animals cannot legally consent and thus can't enter into a contract, which marriage is (beyond the social and religious aspects).
IMHO the genuine argument against gay marriage isn't the kids/dogs/horses argument but the "groups of adults" polygamy argument. In that case legal consent can be obtained because all of the parties are adult and can legally enter into a contract.

Am I going to apologize for it? Hell No.

It's up to a healthy society where the line is drawn. We will not be told where to draw it by activist judiciary, or any government agency. We will demand that the Congress and Senate pass laws protecting the right of society to define marriage according to the general moral dictates, or what is considered the norm.
