At a certain point, you realize that your elected officials just talk about the rule of law. They don't actually enforce it even on the most basic security issues.

Al-Qaeda could walk across the 'border' carrying a couple of nukes in broad daylight. What would stop them? Nothing.

Sometime in the future you are going to hear the name, AU. Guess what it will stand for? American Union. There will be a RU - Russian Union. And there will be a CU - China Union. All will happily join together with the EU - European Union, in order to bring much horror upon the average citizens of these countries. However, the politicians will be happy.
