None of the stuff being discussed as potential leftist tactics - with the possible exception of the gunpowder body-rubs to throw the bomb-dogs off (that's a new one to me) hasn't been in their game book for at least 30 years.

At the Hampton Beach (NH) riots in the '60's the mob was breaking out windows and scaling the bigger pieces at Police like frizbees, along with bricks and whatever else they could pick up.

That's about the time when the 12-ga. Mod.1200 Winchester riot guns of the State Police opened up and drove the Crowd down the street and into the Atlantic Ocean, where blood and salt water interacted most wonderously. Not many sharks up this way, or it could have been even more entertaining; I guess those young hooligans put up a pretty good howl as it was. They tell me that the local medics were picking #6s out of hippie tushes and legs for quite some time afterwards - But Hampton never got that bad again.

We notice that many if not most of the "Rent-A-Mob" rioters come equipped with gas masks and helmets; I would not be surprised if a lot of them are wearing kevlar body armor as well.

Traditionally, it's these "pros" who whip the useful idiots into a frenzy and direct things, keeping a bit to the rear to supervise the front ranks most of the time like an Infantry NCO. But if they detect a point of vunerability they will take it, with sometimes lethal results to an Officer. Even back in the '60s we were told that some of the leftist cadre were being clandestinely sent over to North Korea or Russia for "special training" in 5th collumn operations here at home. Being out of the business for some time, I can only speculate where such advanced training might have taken place more recently, but I would strongly suspect that it is someplace over in the Middle East.

Mobs, BTW, make excellent cover for terrorist operatives - or can provide lots of distraction for the defense.
And don't we know that this Convention will provide any Islammonazi Jihaddists in the area with a "target rich environment"?

I would hope that the good guys occupy the high ground - in this case the rooftops in order to keep a good scoped eye on things. As soon as one "lesser" tactic like the marbles or throwing rocks is tolerated, rentamob is very apt to escalate to the next higher level of force, until they provoke defenses into countering with force of some sort.

Then the cameras record all of ONE SIDE of the action for the media's consumption (or for the ACLU to use in Court afterwards) in order to create an impression of "Police brutality". They will show, for example, a LEO high-sticking (very unprofessional, imho)a demonstrator, but the public will NOT see (or at least would not in pre-FREEPER days)that same puke moments before scaling a clipboard sized chunk of broken glass at that same LEO's neck.

No doubt a few of NYFDs finest will be standing by with charged hoses; that has historicly been a fairly effective way to cool hostile mobs down a little. I'd suggest about 150PSI in a 3" line to start out with. Direct the stream low - takes their legs right out from under their butts quite nicely, and you can just mow them down and stack 'em up rank after rank. After a while, all they want to do when you let them get back up is run away.

An excellent field-testing environment should present itself for some of those "non lethal weapons" systems previously mentioned, and I hope that they all get a thourough work-out in the course of their evaluation.

Personally, I hope that the first puke who pulls out a slingshot gets dropped on the spot with a .308 like a bad habit. They can kill you with one of those things, and inflict serious wounds from quite some distance away.

But we both know that won't happen, don't we?
The mob and the media would be screaming bloody murder, and use it as an excuse to sack and pillage the whole bloomin' City - or as much of it is they could.

So I would expect that someone is going to have to get seriously wounded - or worse - with a slingshot before they start treating them as the deadly weapons they certainly can be.

Be very careful when dealing with these RentaMob thugs; they will intentionally try to provoke you into a confrontation, then will *selectively* document / film whatever goes down in order to prosecute or sue you later. Most of these mobs have photographers, Lawyers, and "professional wittnesses" assigned / distributed throughout the mob in order to do just that, and they sure know how to pervert the law to suit their agenda.

Commie Counsegleri will know just which Judges in the District are sympathetic to their cause, and will see to it that you are hauled before same for persecution if they can lure you into getting physical, or even using forbidden "hate-speech".
And while disruptive / destructive demonstrators will be granted mercy in abundance and in most cases walk with a suspended sentence or small fine (unless they seriously hurt or killed somebody), you needn't expect any.

As previously suggested; as many cameras as can be employed by Patriots willing to participate may come in very handy in capturing the events that the left will not wany anyone to see or hear.
We have technology at our disposal; USE IT. They sure will, and you can bet on that.

Evidence that you collect may well help a Police Officer keep his or her job and avoid financially devistatiing litigation.

If anyone lives in or has access to "high ground" over the scene, a video cam with telephoto lens and directional mike might be effective from a window.

I would strongly suggest, however, letting the LEOs in the area in on your plans first, or you are apt to feel the crosshairs of a Sniper's scope tickling the back of your neck as you lean out the window. As a matter of fact the NYPD might appreciate an offer of access to a strategic high point overlooking the scene from an Owner or Tennant.

Once they know that you want to help cover them, I don't suppose they'd mind too much - but that is, of course, NYPDs call entirely.

This promises to be an interesting Summer.
