I wonder how this will effect 10 meter DX? Higher ionization in the new sky holes?

How will this affect the millions of refrigerator magnets ? They will go flying across the room and stick to the stove.
No, he's wrong. They will flip the refrigeraor upside down. Quick, run in the kitchen and make sure all of the jars in the refrigerator have their lids screwed on tightly.

The animal issue is interesting since this has happened before and the animals have been able to adopt. What?! You mean it's gonna make 'em sterile??

I minored in Geology and graduated in 1979....1979!! And my geology prof, Dr Williams at SMU, mentioned the reversal of the earth's magnetic field even then when discussing plate tectonics. [He also said next time it occurred if we were around, we'd all be fried by electromagnetic radiation...not a nice thought]
And yet the press makes this stuff look brand new.
Amazing....

What will cause a few riots is when North Korea is called South Korea Not to mention the fights here on FR about the South "winning" the Civil War.

From what I understand the direction of water in a flushing toilet bowl is due to the rotation of the earth on its axis so that will not change when the earth flips its magnetic field. Actually, it has to do with the way water flows into the bowl and nothing to do with the earth's rotation, magnetic fields or anythng else.

I rely on my ol' buddy down the street for guidance and direction, but he will be ok 'cause he is bipolar.

There's a GREAT "Disaster Novel" called, "The HAB THEORY"I have that book, and have read it... it dealt with a geographic pole shift. IIRC, ice build-up at the poles caused the "wobble" in the Earth's rotation to grow, until basically the Earth flopped on its side...

Well, if your toilet is over 100 miles in diameter, you may get some rotation from the Coriolis effect.
For for those of us who live in the real world, you are absolutely correct.

It is because of Kyoto not being pushed by Bush that we now face this disaster. Had we adopted this treaty we would have avoided this. (sarcasm)
(truth?)
Anyone notice the correlation to the so called global warming, could the slow but accelerating collapse of the magnetic field be responsible for this warming effect?
