Here are a few verses from the King James, including the one you were discussing.

"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is
abomination." (Leviticus 18:22, King James)

"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman,
both of them have committed an abomination: they shall
surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
(Leviticus 20:13, King James)

"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the
kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor
idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of
themselves with mankind," (1 Corinthians 6:9, King James)

"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for
even their women did change the natural use into that which
is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the
woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men
working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves
that recompence of their error which was meet"
(Romans 1:26-27, King James)

Here's one interesting thing about the New International Version.

The NIV, in Deuteronomy 23:17, says, "No Israelite man or woman
is to become a shrine prostitute."

The KJV says in Deuteronomy 23:17, "There shall be no whore of
the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel."
"Sodomite" is a word that I haven't found in the NIV.

A feminist lesbian named Virginia Mollenkott helped to write the
NIV. Here's some info on Mollenkott.

Let's read something else Ms. Mollenkott had to say.

And that's the older NIV, by the way--not the new "gender
inclusive" version. Here are a few more verses that many misconstrue.

"And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" (Matthew 19:16-19, King James).

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil" (Matthew 5:17, King James).

"Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him" (Luke 17:3-4, KJV).

Nice work. However the Lord added something individualistic to the rich man's inquiry about eternal life -- "go and sell all that you own, then come and pick up your cross and follow Me." (my paraphrase from memory). I take this to mean that we all have individual "crosses" to bear in our lives -- crosses that perhaps only we and the Lord know about -- alcohol, drugs, sexual addiction, gambling, etc., but things that, like the young man's riches - would prevent one from entering the Kingdom unless "crucified".

The common "lib" interpretation of Sodom and Gomorrah, by the way, is that Lot's sin was the sin of inhospitality! Not homosexuality. However, this is resolved in the tiny book of Jude as I recall, where the sin of Sodom is spelled out more plainly.

But back to Dobson -- there will be no headway gained in this debate over gay "marriage" until the body of Christ humbles itself, repents of its own sexual sin (the statistics on even Christian women who log on to porn sites is very high!) and then loves the homosexual in a non judgmental manner. All the legislation in the world will not win anyone to the love of Christ. And it is only the love of Christ that has the power to change the world. Not education. Not psychology. Not debate, diplomacy, politics or war. Only the power of the Creator can change the lives of His creatures. Christians are called to be wise as serpents but meek as doves.
