Something to Yak About – Kerry-Edwards NYC ‘Star Studded Hate Fest’ Draws Bad Reviews, Insults Venerable Venue
How can a presidential campaign insult a building? The Kerry-Edwards campaign has found a way, hosting a celebrity hate fest last week in New York City with John Kerry and John Edwards actually applauding the performers who turned the venerable Radio City Music Hall into, “a launching pad for crass, vulgar and personal insults.” Smooth move, John-John.

The ‘Heart and Soul’ of Kohn Kerry?
Political debate is one thing, but when it comes down to vulgar name-calling and obscenity-laced diatribes, that’s just a bit over the top. Small wonder that more than a few folks are upset over last Thursday’s Kerry-Edwards event in NYC, at which John Kerry called the hate-spewing entertainers, “the heart and soul of America.” Perhaps this is the other America John Edwards loves to yak about.

Kerry-Edwards Camp Offers Nuanced Response to Hatred
After John Kerry and John Edwards gave hearty atta-boys to their latest recruits in the Coalition of the Wild Eyed during last week’s NYC Bush-bashing hate fest, the campaign tried to distance itself from this self-inflicted flap with this lame mea culpa from John-John flack Mary Beth Cahill: “The performers had a perfect right to say what they said." Fine. And John Kerry had a perfect right to applaud the performers who raised money for the Kerry campaign with vulgarity-riddled political hate speech – which he did. So much for a nuanced response…

Kerry Misrepresents Facts on Job Creation
When good things started happening in America, bad things started happening for John Kerry who lost a big campaign issue, to wit, the economy. With more than 1.5 million jobs created in recent months and 10 consecutive months of job growth, John Kerry is now trying to convince people that these new jobs aren’t all that good. But guess what? The Gentleman From Massachusetts isn’t being straight with people, according to the Annenberg Political Fact Check. “The New Figures: More Good Jobs - The figures we've obtained from BLS paint a brighter picture of what's happening to job quality,” noted the non-partisan Annenberg folks.

The Final Yak
“I look forward to today when Senator Kerry tells the people of West Virginia and New Mexico that he sees hate and vitriol as America’s heart and soul. I doubt anyone will be celebrating.” (SOURCE: Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie July 12, commenting on the star-studded celebrity hate fest which John Kerry said represented the ‘heart and soul,’ of America)

The producers of the movie "America's Heart and Soul" currently playing at a very few theaters should have made a big fuss about the reference to their title. They could have at least gotten a bit of publicity for their heartwarming and uplifting film.

Anyone seen the movie yet?

I went to the website and saw "John Mellencamp" in big letters...

Is it worth a royalty?

We watched the whole movie before the "John Mellencamp" name came up in the credits.

I enjoyed it as a very uplifting, beautifully photographed, series of vignettes of creative American people, who are happy in their own skin and life choice. It almost seemed like it could have been filmed for showing in an IMAX theater.
