Opel Zafira From Gliwice The next-generation Zafira will be manufactured in the second half of this year in the Opel factory in Gliwice. The new car will be also produced in the Opel plant in Bochum, Germany.
The Zafira is the third model, after Agila and Astra Classic II, from Gliwice. Production will take place in a three-shift system and the plant's production capacity will be fully used. The company also plans to increase employment by 700. Zafira will be sold both in Poland and abroad. "Not only competitive labor costs, but first and foremost high quality, record time in launching the production of Astra Classic II, and effective realization of our plans, were the most important factors behind the decision to choose Gliwice," says Romuald Rytwiñski, director general of General Motors Poland and Opel Polska. "This decision is proof of GME management's trust in our factory whose employees have often demonstrated top professional qualifications and commitment. The second-generation Zafira will meet top standards and is at the same time the most technologically advanced project in the history of our plant."
Launch of Zafira production in Gliwice will also be possible due to the offset program implemented by the Lockheed Martin company. "Realization of this project will also bring visible benefits for Poland related not only to increased employment directly at the plant and our Polish partners, but also to the introduction of the latest technologies and a significant increase in exports," says Rytwiñski.
Opel Zafira is among the most popular minivans in Europe. Over 1999-2003, more than million units were produced.
There was an Opel Zafira From Gliwice
We bought a red one for my niece

But it didn't run very far
Because, like Trablant, it was a peice of shiest.
