Here's Kerry giving Edwards a pass, from http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5412186/site/newsweek/

NEWSWEEK: Iran is a big problem; everyone is trying to grapple with it. How do you go about enforcing nuclear agreements when it seems the countries have a different agenda? And how do you stop Iran's nuclear program?

KERRY: Do you mind ... since John just joined this ticket two days ago and he and I have not had the time to sit down, so he and I haven't fully brought up to speed on the speeches ...

The ellipses are theirs, apparently it was even lamer as it went on, and Newsweek delicately edited the rest out.

KERRY: Do you mind ...

If it were me asking that question I would have strongly said back "Well, yes, I do mind and if Senator Edwards can't speak for himself on such a basic foreign policy issue such as Iran, why did you select him?"
