"If the president is embarrassed to be seen with conservatives at the convention, maybe conservatives will be embarrassed to be seen with the president on Election Day."

RINO's have won, lets go home

The Left is putting out a bunch of this wedge stuff. Try to ignore it.

It sounds as if the administration has a tin ear when it comes to listening to social consevratives and there can really be only one reason for that. They don't really believe in what we stand for.

There was certainly no problem with Reagan reaching social conservatives. And Reagan didn't have slam dunk issues like gay marriage to fall back on.

is it any suprise the republican leadership wants to downplay the role of social conservatives on their biggest night? gay marraige, abortion and family values are important to a lot of americans, but none of these issues have fired up middle-of-the-road voters in 2004. it makes sense to dwell on less devisive topics like security and the economy.

Conservative Republicans don't have the guts to punish Bush for being a RINO.

So he'll assume he can get away with anything. And he will.

But not with my support.

as well as Education Secretary Rod Paige,

A person who has harsh words for teacher unions isn't exactly a mushy middle moderate to me.

Note the source...NYTimes...divide and conquer.

What conservative, in their right mind, would vote for Kerry, by abstaining to vote for Bush?

If Bush loses because of division in the party, then it seems maybe the Democrats deserve to win.

I don't believe in "cut off my nose to spite my face" politics.

Reading through (some) of the responses, I am surprised at the dims that try to represent "true Conservatives"! Moby has them motivated, but they are easily spotted!!!

President Bush does not have to stump for GOD, as GOD's light shines from within him. He has supported and signed legislation banning Partial Birth Abortion. The dim’s liberal courts have overturned the law, and it is winding its way to the Supreme Court. This story has repeated itself in many ways in the last 3 1/2 years.

Go ahead and vote for kerry, or stay home and take a pass to not vote. Those in the past that have taken the same moral out (I won't vote for _____ because he is not, or did not support, or did support _____), are the ones that are responsible for most of the setbacks to our hard won victories. It only strengthens satan's power, and emboldens his minions such as kerry, kennedy, and edweirds.

I will proudly cast my vote for the President in November. I know that God will smile upon me as I punch out that chad. He will smile upon America by providing us with four more years of steady leadership from a man that loves GOD, and America with all of his heart!

I will only be concerned when RINO's are headlining the ticket. So far its still Bush and Cheney from what I remember.

To all the Republicans out there. Keep it up and Kerry will win. Do not ignore Conservatives because that is how George Sr. lost.

Why don't they get Michael Reagan to speak? He's the only remaining Reagan who really "gets it."

Liberal media snapping their fingers again and telling conservatives to jump away from the GOP.... and some of the more numb among us eagerly ask how high.

Question for all the dim-bulbs on the thread who keep insisting that Bush should follow Reagan's example to steer the GOP in a more conservative route...

Please post lists of Reagan's 100% pure, unadulatered, supporting-every-scrap-of-the-GOP-platform conservatives that were the prime-time speakers at his two conventions.... or shut up.

How many 'fiscal conservatives' will be speaking at the RNC - probably none. No one will speak about a 'Balanced Budget Ammendment' - only talk of tax cuts, and phony talk about 'spending cuts' that will never happen with the group of'porkers' in Washington now.

I would really, really like to see some budding national conservative GOPers who'll likely be more visible come 2008 (for one reason or another) get some speaking time, people like Bill Owens or Pat Toomey or Haley Barbour (more like a reintroduction for Haley).

If a relatively fresh-faced conservative begins to emerge now, he/she can really catch fire come 2008. Man, do I long for someone to truly get excited about once again! I love Chris Cox, but truth be told the man needs a serious personality infusion stat!

PS-What do you folks think of Craig Benson? Yea, nay, or somewhere in between?

I'm sick of the religious right placing a stranglehold on the party. When they don't get their way they threaten. Gary Bauer and his followers can vote for Kerry if they don't like it.
