Inflation WAS rampant,in many times past, WHEN OUR CURRENCY WAS BACKED BY GOLD!The currency in circulation could not grow exponentially, as it does now, and be backed by gold at the same time.
Obviously,economics just isn't your forte.Inflation gets ginned up in many different ways.
