Who is the American Border Patrol?
American Border Patrol (ABP)is one of several volunteer groups operating here in Cochise County. The open borders crowd considers us vigilantes, racists, beer-drinkin' bubbas, etc. Basically we just provide additional border surveillance and tip off groups of illegals to those with the badges.
ABP does it with seismic ground sensors, daylight video and infrared cameras, and our own small fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles. We broadcast the missions live over the internet or live on TV if a network sends a crew, and just generally make an infernal nuisance of ourselves by publicizing just how ugly the situation has become down here.
Civil Homeland Defense (CHD) is the other major group here. They do ground surveillance in fairly large groups and are quite successful as well.
The situation got so bad this year that our sheriff has formed two additional volunteer groups of his own. One actively patrols for illegals anywhere; the other guards the school buses and school bus stops in the mornings.
There are also a lot of independents who patrol on their own because their work schedules don't match with any of the organized groups.
