While I like the idea in theory, in practice I don't think that would go over very well. So many people are scared of firearms these days, just showing up with one will cause some major panic. I pretty much guarantee the cops would be on you very quickly. I wonder what would happen if you notified the county of your intentions to stand guard at the poll ahead of time.
P.S. Here in Oregon we are 100% mail fraud ballot. I hate that we have it, but I can see its usefulness now. LOL

You're right about that. It's a shame. Virginia allows open carry of loaded firearms as well as concealed, but I think you are correct. People would freak out.
Guess I'll deep-six the idea of guarding the polls. Thanks for the advice!
