President George W. Bush and Democratic Presidential nominee Senator John Kerry will address the National Urban League's 2004 annual conference, National Urban League President & CEO Marc H. Morial announced today.

This year's conference theme is Empowerment: Building on the Civil Rights Movement. Registration is now open and available via website at http://www.nul.org and by telephone (800-263-9926). The conference convenes in Detroit from Wednesday, July 21 through Sunday, July 25.

At first, I thought "this is only a coincidence." The Democratic party of the United States couldn't be in lock step with the Marxists! So, I wrote to a spokesman of the CPUSA in Georgia and here is part of his letter:

" The CPUSA supports the John Kerry campaign with donations and volunteer effort. We believe that defeating George Bush is the single most important issue this November ..."

A Vietnam vet group took a trip to Communist Hanoi to investigate a report that John Kerry was in the "Hanoi Hall of Fame." Yes, there is a museum in Hanoi with a section dedicated to foreign activists who help defeat the United States Military in Vietnam. Of course, you would expect Jane Fonda's picture to be there. But, alas, there is John Kerry's picture shaking the hand of a communist official.

Washington, July 16 (Reuters): The US plans to develop an experimental 13,600 kg bomb, the biggest in its inventory, aimed at destroying deeply buried targets beyond the reach of existing bombs, the air force said today.

The Massive Ordnance Penetrator, or MOP, would be about one-third heavier than the 9525-kg Massive Ordnance Air Blast, MOAB, dropped twice last year in“live” tests at a range in Florida.

The air force’s Air Armaments Center at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, said it planned to award a contract for the “technology demonstration” work as early as mid-September, based on a perceived need for such a weapon. “We think a bomb like this could be important in the future for targets that we can’t destroy with what we now have,” said Jake Swinson of the armaments center, which develops, tests, evaluates and acquires non-nuclear, air-dropped munitions.

Two suspicious packages found, destroyed in Northeast Philadelphia


Philadelphia-AP -- Two suspicious packages were found in Northeast Philadelphia late last night and one of them went off, damaging an S-U-V nearby.

Authorities took away the second device. No injuries were reported.

Neighbors say that it wasn't the first time in recent months that suspicious packages were found in their area. The incident remains under investigation.

FOX CHASE-July 18, 2004 — The Philadelphia police bomb squad was called out late Saturday night to check out two suspicious devices.

Police rushed to the 7700 block of Fillmore Street in the city's Fox Chase section after a device exploded on a car. The bomb squad later came and found a 6" to 8" inch-long cylinder blown up under a car nearby.

Police say a woman was seen on camera planting the first device but she's not in custody.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms is assisting the police investigation.
