Hummm... has anyone ever heard him use the words: Jesus, Cross, Sin and Hell in any single sermon?
GREAT ARTICLE!
does anyone have pastor warrens web site?
Praise God.
what do you know about warren?
Yes actually. The most poignant is his telling of his father's effort, in the last minutes of his life, to get out of his bed "to reach one more for Jesus".
I'm on day four of 'The purpose driven life'.
I look forward to what I may learn.
I haven't heard any of his sermons directly from him, but my former paster used to parrot them every Sunday until I could take it no longer. Those words are offensive and might drive away the "seekers". Glad I got out of that church and now get some real teaching every Sunday.
Excellent book. Very moving.
Praise God.
I'm amazed. I thought that faith was dead in Britain, aside from a few isolated saints. What a joy it is to hear that there are a thousand churches in the UK that welcome Warren's teachings and are anxious to embrace Christ!
Amen.
There has definitely been a revival going on there the last few years. Holy Trinity in Brompton (COE) was the source of the "Alpha Course" which has spread world-wide and Kensington Temple is a Pentacostal church that is planting new churches everywhere. Also, everywhere you go in the UK, you will find what the traditionalists refer to scornfully as "happy clapping churches". LOL
I wish them well.
Hitting the street is when it gets tough.
You really seem to like this website.
But it's not the Bible. If Protestants believe that God's Truth is to be found in the Bible, and the Bible alone, and that the Bible, and the Bible alone explaints itself, why are they writing volumes and volumes of religious help-me-find-my-faith books with carefully selected and screened biblical passages to support their version of the truth?
If they believe in sola scriptura, why don't they just give out copies of the Bible and be done with this?
And what about the profits they collect for selling God's Truth? Making profits from God's words are sweet indeed. Take away the finanical incentive and se how many books will hit the market and how many pastors will be preaching.
As for those profits, did you read the part where he gives 90% of the take away and keeps only 10%?
He is the leader of the "rope them in with rock and roll music, and what they want to hear, church movement.
ashamed of the gospel!
showtime religion!
i do not like topical, pentcostal, charismatic, prosperity preaching!
thankyou for your response.
The words "Jesus, Cross, Sin and Hell" might drive away seekers?
You left your church because your pastor mentioned these words often in his message?
