Clinton felt he had no choice but to lie about his relationship with the former White House intern, because if he had told the truth, "the overwhelming likelihood is that I would have been forced from office."

I can't help but think about how the 'rats hero, John F. Kennedy, wrote "Profiles in Courage" about men who destroyed their own political careers in order to do what they knew to be the just and moral thing.

How far down we have come. There is now a former president who writes a book about how he lied and did what he knew was wrong in order to save his political career.

Well, he did get to keep his office. He lost it for his party on the next go around though, and possibly for a long time to come.

This guy has one troubled and haunted soul. This interview is almost like a session with a psychiatrist. He's unloading but still trying to rationalize why he lied. Eventually he may bear all. In the meantime he is getting the attention he desperately seeks.

If my memory serves me correctly it was Janet Reno’s option to ask Ken Star to take on this additional investigation or to appoint another special prosecutor. If this is the case then obviously Ken Star was intended to be the straw man all along.

"It was an intentional dodge," Clinton said.

The phrase you're looking for, Blubba is "I am a big fat liar."

Well.....X42 proved the old adage WRONG then........."That the COVER-UP gets you into more trouble than the incident you are covering up." Not only did he LIE to the American People (what Politician doesn't) but he lied to a Federal Judge and Federal Grand Jury in addition to obstructing justice in the Paula Jones case of sexual harassment.

Only HE could have gotten by with this and remained in office. Truly a remarkable period in our History. Even Ronald Reagan would not have survived a Paula Jones/Monica Lewinsky type scandal, because of course, he was a Republican.

And yet still not being reported by the mainstream media. So, as far as their concerned, it didn't happen. Only us astute, political junkie conservatives see it. Great post though.

For that, you win a link. Here it is: http://www.whiskeycreekpress.com/books/electivedecisions.shtml.

I was at Borders and freeped the shrine to Clinton. First, I found a pro-Bush book and an anti-Kerry book and put them in the middle of the shrine and then, and this was the best, I took the books from the "New Non-Fiction" rack and put them on the "New Fiction."

But in the end, Democrats stayed in lockstep behind him, and Clinton survived.

Clinton survived and the Democrats lost everything!!!They might have stayed in power had they kicked his butt out.

There is still a large (stupid, IMHO) segment of the population (Howie Carr refers to them as "Clinton R*mp-swabs") who would still worship the Sinkmeister -- even if he performed a live Bill/Monica scene in one of Jabba-the-Moore's Crock-a-mentaries...

He didn't have to worry. He had Trent Lott and several other Republican senators in his back pocket ready to bend over one more time - which they did, at the same time screwing over the House Republicans. Disgusting.

Clinton will never come clean, he is a lawyer and a democrat, lying is second nature to them.

This is slightly off the subject, But this evening ex-president Bill Clinton's tome, "My Life", was in a bargain bin at the local Safeway. The store marked it's price at $14.95. It would be 20% less if the purchaser also presented his Safeway card.

It was so funny to see Slick Willie's book sold along with last year's diet books, Shrek I activity books and box sets of juvenile paperbacks.

"I can't help but think about how the 'rats hero, John F. Kennedy, wrote "Profiles in Courage" "

Except he did not write it, others wrote it and he put his name on it.

Regards,
