Not to sound like I have a large circle of gay friends, but I had lesbian neighbors, an attorney and her partner, who had a little boy (I didn't ask about the circumstances) who was darling, of course, but I always doubted the wisdom of their decision.

I can remember when parents would lose their rights as being unfit if they were determined to be homosexual. While that may be a little extreme (I have mixed feelings on that one), I do not generally believe that practicing homosexuals are the best choice for parental custody of children, since they clearly have priorities that are not grounded in what is in the best interest of the children. Of course, I am referring to children who are naturally conceived in a heterosexual relationship, where one parent later gets into the homosexual lifestyle. It happens.

It is altogether different to allow them to adopt, particularly when there are childless heterosexual couples who have difficulty due to the lack of adoptable children, especially infants, and to artificially create a life to satisfy their own selfish desires and sick emotional "needs" is way over the edge. In these cases I do not believe that the best interest of the child ever even comes into play, and that is appalling.
