Bush didn't want to fire Tenet...he didn't want Tenet to go now, but finally accepted his resignation.

I'll take President Bush's judgement over Newsmax any day.

As to others, Richard Clarke, for one, was taken out of the loop almost immediately--Rice was informed of his gigantic ego on January 21, 2001, hence his pique and subsequent declining to attend meetings in favor of gathering material for his eventual book. Perhaps he should have been let go sooner, but he was demoted.

The picture that emerges is that the administration trusted one Clinton holdover (CIA Director George Tenet) to use judgment in selecting someone to conduct a sensitive mission to determine if there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. That person turned out to be another Clinton holdover and Democratic Party contributor.

Yet another FALSE ACCUSATION from Newsmax.

Tenet didn't pick Wilson to go.
