Why would they want to invent genetically engineered beer? Are they not satisfied with the real deal? What's wrong with genuine barley, hops, yeast and water?

A series of food-related health scares in recent years, from mad cow disease to poisoned poultry, have stoked fears among many Europeans about so-called GM foods.

None of that has anything to do with GM foods. Anyone who is afraid of GM for that reason is a complete idiot. Of course, it's completely unsurprising the AP would try to get people to think that way by linking the two in their articles.

Check out - http://www.beertown.org/

It's a big and interesting hobby. PS Corn doesn't belong in beer GM or otherwise - it is a cheap filler for added alcohol that does nothing for taste.

"Greenpeace activists chased Kenth-ladened beer trucks in Sweden and Denmark, discouraging store and tavern owners from buying the brew..."

Funny, leftists call themselves 'progressives' but are nothing more than modern Luddites. Think Unibomber.

Also, I suppose it's only a matter of time before these 'activists' do more than try to merely discourage.
