The Kerry Line: John Kerry's Priorities
George W. Bush ^ | July 9, 2004

Posted on 07/09/2004 2:30:01 PM PDT by RWR8189

"It is a great example of John Kerry's priorities that on the day he said he did not have time to receive his intelligence briefing on threats to America, he found time to attend a Hollywood fund-raiser, filled with enough hate and vitriol to make Michael Moore blush."

-Steve Schmidt, Bush-Cheney '04 Spokesman

John Kerry's Priorities

Kerry Says He Hasn't "Had Time" To Be Briefed On Terrorist Threats. KING: "News of the day, Tom Ridge warned today about al Qaeda plans of a large-scale attack on the United States. Didn't increase the -- you see any politics in this? What's your reaction?" KERRY: "Well, I haven't been briefed yet, Larry. They have offered to brief me. I just haven't had time." (Sen. Kerry, "Larry King Live," CNN, 7/8/04)

Kerry Had Time To Attend Celebrity Bush-Bashing. "A star-studded salute to Senators John Kerry and John Edwards Thursday night at Radio City Music Hall slid into an unsparing skewering of the Bush administration, with actors and comedians denouncing the president as a liar, making off-color jokes about his name, and accusing him of risking soldiers' lives for political gain." (Jodi Wilgoren, "Kerry's Celebrity Fund-Raiser Is a Huge Bash," The New York Times, 7/9/04)

Performers Called The President A "Thug." "At the fundraiser, Kerry praised speakers and performers, some of whom lambasted Bush as a liar, 'thug' and killer." (Jim VandeHei, "Values Become Key Campaign Issue," The Washington Post, 7/9/04)

Kerry Declined To Denounce Hate-Filled Attacks. "But unlike one of Mr. Kerry's vanquished primary rivals, Howard Dean, who denounced racial humor and profanity at one of his own fundraisers in New York, Mr. Edwards and Mr. Kerry hardly veered from their script when they mounted the stage at the end of the extravaganza, looking more subdued than they had all week." (Jodi Wilgoren, "Kerry's Celebrity Fund-Raiser Is a Huge Bash," The New York Times, 7/9/04)

Kerry Said The Performances Represented "The Heart And Soul Of Our Country." "At the end of the concert, when the two candidates took the stage with their wives, neither made reference to the more inflammatory remarks. Edwards repeated the same campaign speech, and Kerry thanked the performers, saying they conveyed 'the heart and soul of our country.'" (Matea Gold, "Stars Raise Voices Against Bush," Los Angeles Times, 7/9/04)

Maybe they represent the heart and soul of that "Other America" John Edwards is always babbling on about. It is going to be sooooo much fun to watch these guys go down in flames.

How will Kerry find the time for national security intelligence briefings as president? It's a sure thing he'll be far more busy then than he is now.

Do the Right Thing for America. Vote for Bush-Cheney.

(For the record, I am one of those who holds serious criticism of President Bush on some issues, but right now, those pale in importance to the main issue of re-electing him. After the election, we can have those critical discussions once again. Now is NOT the time to talk about them.)
