We've had electonic voting in Rhode Island for years.

It's very convenient for the democrats to cast all the votes ahead of time. We don't even have to bother going to the polls since, I'm sure I already voted for Kerry and all the other demo crooks in office here.

Don't know about all that - the sentiment expressed is correct: electronic voting machines, as they stand right now, are extremely vulnerable to tampering and fraud. This has been shown time and time again in places like Maryland, California, and most other states where they've either been tried or strongly considered. They're unreliable machines, and the companies making them have shown a remarkable penchant for violating election laws by changing software in the voting machines after their certification, but prior to election day.

I do think it will be interesting what all the "Repubs are rigging the vote" will say if Kerry wins. Are they then going to insist the election was honest and above board or are they going to allow for the possibility that Democrats are actually the vote riggers?

As an engineer who works with technology identical to that in the voting machines I am scared. The database technology being used is so basic and insecure that anyone with the right software tools and a few minutes can make any of those machines say anything they want to. The idea of some stinky liberal smallbrain tweaking the tally bothers me but what is even scarier is the prospect of Bush winning with subsequent litigation over those machines that would top the sore losers of 2001.

Exactly. There is a long, rich tradition of votes being "lost" through current & past methods of voting. Sometimes intentional. Many times not.
