I figure that the first time someone mentions she is overweight and does not comb her hair the liberal media will go ballistic and write articles about Republicans attacking women. This is where your point is taken - if this were a Republican wife, this would be fair game. Remember we are dealing with the same liberal media who attacked Linda Tripp, Paula Jones, and Katherine Harris for being stupid, ugly, or fat, but gave were upset at the mild attacks of the Lazio campaign.

Your point is well-taken, but then that speaks to the "pity" factor. And pity is a close sister to contempt. Contempt may be our friend. Remember how "likable" they're supposed to be.

For one thing, the left is already trying to hedge its bets. Look at the condescending way the *lefty* press is writing about her. She's "thinking" about improving her appearance. It's like they know it leaves a lot to be desired.

Contrast this with Tipper Gore, who seemed to have some affection on her side.

This is also the Hollywood gang who do nothing but judge on appearance. They have to be uncomfortable with someone who badly needs a "makeover."
