Sen Pat Roberts (R) read a list of examples of "exaggerated intelligence" that included items like "Iraq was developing UAVs".
huh? David Kay's report in Oct 2003 showed that Iraq WAS developing UAVs.
I just don't get it. I will need to wait for a transcript of this press conference to go over the points, item by item, but it seemed clear to me that Pat Roberts list of exaggerations was not correct. This was pertaining to the NIE of late 2002, right? He did say these claims were not supported by the intel, not that they were flat out wrong, but still.... Is it possible that the Senate committee did not get to see some of the intelligence?
Again.... David Kay's report (which was preliminary) seems to belie many of the points that Roberts read.
