Just hours before attending an all-star celebrity fundraising concert in New York, Dem presidential candidate John Kerry revealed how has been too busy for a real-time national security briefing.

"I just haven't had time," Kerry explained in an interview.

Kerry made the startling comments on CNN's LARRY KING LIVE Thursday night.

KING: News of the day, Tom Ridge warned today about al Qaeda plans of a large-scale attack on the United States. Didn't increase the -- you see any politics in this? What's your reaction?

KERRY: Well, I haven't been briefed yet, Larry. They have offered to brief me. I just haven't had time.

Sounds like a great Bush ad in the making: or maybe just a new FR tagline

So let's see...Kerry names Edwards his VP on Tuesday...by Friday morning we can ALREADY talk about Edwards' flip-flopping on the Iraq war and now Kerry doesn't have time for a terror briefing because he was involved in a Bush bashing fundraiser? If people don't see these 2 guys as a couple of opportunistic hacks, we might as well let the UN take over. Oh yeah, if they win, it'll happen anyways, so no worries...

IF the democrats want to win this thing, the best thing they could do it to get this guy away from cameras. Does he have a day when he doesn't say something completely idiotic?

I posted this from an AP story last night (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1168003/posts). He had time to sit on CNN with his billionaire wife for an hour, but not to find out about the terror threat? What a horrible commentary about this man's priorities.

"It is a great example of John Kerry's priorities that on the day he said he did not have time to receive his intelligence briefing on threats to America, he found time to attend a Hollywood fundraiser, filled with enough hate and vitriol to make Michael Moore blush," Bush campaign spokesman Steve Schmidt said.

This would make a very effective commercial if the GOP is smart enough to do it.

If you only listened to the Democrats, you would not know that 9/11 happened, nor that we were at war around the world.

"Does he have a day when he doesn't say something completely idiotic?"

Consider his audience...idiotic is appropriate to the occasion.

It's as if Kerry is doing his damn best to destroy his own campaign with idiotic statements at inopportnue times. First, there was the "I voted for it before I voted against it" line, just as the Bush team was rolling out ads painting Kerry as a flip-flopper (Rove & Co. immediately added this to the ads). Now, just as the "Priorities" ad hits the streets, Kerry makes this stupid comment. One can only hope the folks at the BC04 campaign are hard at work splicing this into the "Priorities" ad as we speak...
