JUST BREAKING ON DRUDGE - NO STORY YET.
Regards, Ivan
No time for security breifing for kerry ping
When would John Kerry have time to tend to the duties as President? If he is going to be absent from the job he now has, and will not take time to prepare for the job he claims to be seeking, what is he doing now that is so very much more important? And don't tell me that he is "campaigning". If he were a serious campaigner, he would be spelling out WHAT Bush is doing wrong, specific as to deed, time and place, and none of these generalities, that "Bush is bad for the economy (or America, or foreign relations, or hair styling)". And more important, once these specifics were identified, what, exactly, would he do on January 21, 2005, to correct what he notes as being the wrong directions, and where those changes in directions are expected to take us toward.
It was probably good that Henry David Thoreau could retreat to Walden Pond to contemplate platitudes, but that is no way to run a country.
Rush mentioned this on yesterday's show.
That's because it's all about winning, not governing.
Exactly!
I agree. While normally not a conspiracy guy myself, if Kerry/Edwards were to win, the dem nomination might be sown up until 2012 and they would be the face of the Dem party. The Clintons would be out-no way that's going to happen. It will be a Dubya landslide clearing the way for Hillary in '08.
So when the Bush admin. calls Edwards disengenuous it's an attack but when the leftist's do this (see below) it's not even mentioned?
The White House is reportedly demanding an apology from the Kerry-Edwards campaign after Thursday night's Manhattan fundraiser - where comic Whoopi Goldberg targeted President Bush with a filth-laden monologue as the two top Democrats looked on and laughed.
"Waving a bottle of wine, [Goldberg] fired off a stream of vulgar sexual wordplays on Bush's name in a riff about female genitalia, and boasted that she'd refused to let Team Kerry clear her material," reported Friday's New York Post.
"I Xeroxed my behind and I folded it up in an envelope and I sent it back with a big kiss mark on because we're Democrats - we're not afraid to laugh," she added.
With or without his prior approval, the obscene rant seemed to please top Democrat Kerry, who could be seen laughing uproariously during part of Goldberg's tirade. Neither member of the Democratic duo voiced a single objection after aging comic's ugly act. Far from being offended, Kerry thanked all the performers at the Radio City Music Hall event for "an extraordinary evening," adding that "every performer tonight ... conveyed to you the heart and soul of our country."
For his part Edwards actually boasted that it was "a great honor" to sit through the X-rated show, adding without a hint of irony, "This campaign will be a celebration of real American values."
Other stars displayed their raw contempt for Bush, but managed to avoid drifting into Goldberg's blue zone.
Actress Jessica Lange branded the Bush administration "a self-serving regime of deceit, hypocrisy and belligerence," while comic Chevy Chase heaped scorn on Bush's intellect: "This guy is as bright as an egg-timer."
The Bush administration was reportedly so outraged by Goldberg's raunchy routine that it now wants team Kerry to apologize, WABC Radio reported Friday morning.
This guy is a walking, talking and breathing Wellstone Memorial. He's a disaster. Combine this with the vulgar behavior of celebrity Democrats and one can only surmise that they are living in a parallel universe known as Bizarro World.
"Yup, be great to have a man in the White House who has killed people face to face."
Isn't that strange? I have to wonder what makes people think they way they do? So actually shooting someone makes you more qualifed to be President???
Kerry and his supporters should rightly be named in the briefing as facilitators and enablers of terrorism. That's why they don't want to hear about the details.
I thought such briefings were given to nominees, not to candidates. Guess I was wrong.
Some of Kerry's campaign people have made this strange comment as well. Saying that he's qualified to be president because he actually killed people.
It was conflicting with his botox treatment appointment.
Great Bush slogan, "John Kerry, He Just Hasn't Got the Time"
Perhaps that is why no doctor will remove that growth on Edwards' lip. Afraid to be sued.
This could be, could be, if handled right and with the right media consultant the same as the Dukakis tank picture in '88...
