No reason for surprise at this - and no reason to worry. The "gay Republican" oxymoron has always been a press phenomenon. Nominal "Log Cabin Republicans" probably vote Democratic enough to be considered in their base. In other words - they didn't vote for Bush in 2000 and will not vote for him in 2004.
