No one should have a problem with having every vote counted. What Al Gore wanted in 2000 was to change the legal definition of a "vote" changed once the election was over. He wanted things which were not, and never have been, considered a "vote" -- e.g., "dimples" -- counted. Count all the votes! Don't count those ballot which do not reflect a legal vote.
And that definition kept changing from county to county to improve the Gore totals.
I am tired of hearing about dimpled chads. Ohio has the same type of ballots Florida did. First the voting machine explicitly states (in Ohio at least) to push the poker all the way in. Second, I tried to make a dimpled chad and it is very hard to press just hard enough to make a dimple but not hard enough to punch through. At least it is if you are only punching one ballot at a time. It might be easier to dimple chads on the bottom one when voting with a whole stack of ballots.
