Please. There's plenty of other smoke coming from this guy.
The fact that he would allow his children to work around other men with heavy machinery shows a decided lack of judgment.
Construction dangerous? I suppose policeman, soldier, firefighter, and working on oil rigs are out of the question? Not to mention mining and racing automobiles....
Your perceptions are oddly skewed. More people get killed in the average week driving cars than die annually in any of the named professions.
If you had your way, they'd answer " 911, sorry, today is a Federal holiday. Please call back with your emergency during our normal working hours from 9AM to 5 PM monday through friday...."
As for financial risk, all the professions you named carry professional insurance in case the practicioner gets sued. They are no less at risk.

I attended private schools in the fifties and sixties (as a student). They did not use "little sticks" and students did not have the luxury of "thick diapers".

re: "wanting to keep women barefoot and pregnant"
Would everyone be more supportive of this guy if his wife and oldest daughter were wearing 5 inch stilletto heels and black leather hip-huggers (3 sizes too small)? LOL
These people live in part of Washington State where temperatures can soar over 100 degrees.
I always go barefoot at home and always wear open sandles when out in public. I have not been arrested by the "fashion police", yet.
Hasn't the human race evolved beyond stereotypes.
Thank you for your insight.

ps. I have a cousin in eastern Canada who gave birth to 21 children (all by herself). Good Catholics.
It was the fact that the wife and girls were barefoot, while the husband and boys all wore shoes, that caught my eye. If it's too hot for the womenfolk to be wearing shoes, wouldn't it be too hot for the menfolk as well?
Whatever happened to you FReeper friend?
